AI agent infrastructure needs an independent clock and pulse
A pipeline can run perfectly during a demo and still fail in production for boring reasons. The model is not the problem in any of these cases:
Tickstem's infrastructure covers four operational surfaces available in Melaya today: cron jobs, uptime monitors, heartbeat checks, and email verification. Tickstem keeps an operational record outside the agent run itself — a failed execution can become an incident summary, a missed heartbeat can become a support task, an invalid email can stop a CRM write before bad data spreads. Melaya turns that signal into a governed workflow that can reach the rest of a team's stack.
How a Melaya agent reaches Tickstem's infrastructure
Tickstem owns the reliability primitives. A cron job calls an HTTPS endpoint on a standard five-field UTC schedule, and each execution records success, failure, or timeout, its HTTP status, and duration — with configurable retries before a failure alert fires. Uptime monitors check URLs on an interval and can assert on status code or response body. Heartbeats act as dead man's switches: a worker pings after successful work, and Tickstem detects when expected pings stop. Email verification checks syntax, MX records, disposable domains, and role-based inboxes — without ever contacting the recipient's mail server.
Melaya makes those primitives usable inside a larger business process. The same agent that reads a failed Tickstem execution can inspect deployment logs, update an incident document, and draft a message to a team. The same workflow that verifies an email can enrich the contact, update a CRM, and prepare an outreach message. Consequential actions still stop on an approval card first.
Connecting Tickstem in Melaya
Connect. Create a Tickstem API key at app.tickstem.dev/dashboard/keys, then open Connectors in Melaya, select Tickstem, and paste the key.
Choose the surface. Give the agent only the cron, uptime, heartbeat, or verification tools it actually needs — keep the allowlist as small as the job permits.
Read the signal. List jobs, executions, monitors, checks, heartbeats, or verification history without waiting for approval — writes still require one.
Cron jobs
- List, get, create, update, delete
- Pause and resume
- Inspect execution history
Uptime monitors
- List, get, create, update, delete
- Pause and resume
- Inspect check history
Heartbeats
- List, get, create, update, delete
- Test a ping
- Inspect ping history
Email verification
- Verify an address
- Read previous verification results
Workflows this makes possible
A weekday Tickstem job calls a Melaya pipeline endpoint. When a run fails, another agent reads Tickstem's execution history, groups the errors, and drafts an incident note — the cron schedule itself stays visible and independently inspectable.
A backup, crawler, or local agent pings its Tickstem heartbeat after successful work. If the worker stops, Tickstem marks the heartbeat as failing, and a Melaya operations workflow can read the missed-ping history and prepare a response.
Before a signup, lead, or applicant reaches a CRM, a Melaya agent calls Tickstem's email verification. Invalid syntax, missing MX records, and disposable domains can stop the write before it happens — role-based addresses like info@ can be routed for review instead of rejected automatically.
Getting started
Create a free account at tickstem.dev, generate an API key from the dashboard, then connect it from the Tickstem connector card in Melaya. Keep write approvals enabled while you test a workflow, and scope each agent's tool access as narrowly as the job actually needs — see Melaya's documentation for more on connectors, approval modes, and building a pipeline from scratch.
